Vertical Disc Mixer

The vertical disc mixer is a material mixing device characterized by simple operation and excellent mixing performance; it is responsible for the uniform blending of ingredients in organic fertilizer workshops. Its open-pan design allows operators to clearly monitor the mixing process, making both material loading and visual inspection convenient. The equipment features a compact structure with a small footprint, making it suitable for installation in space-constrained workshops. Daily operation primarily involves controlling feed quantity, mixing duration, and discharge timing, allowing workers to master the process quickly.

Working Principle

A vertical main shaft drives the mixing arms to rotate within the circular pan. Mixing paddles push the material in a circular motion, while scrapers lift and turn over material adhering to the pan bottom and walls. The material follows a complex trajectory involving horizontal circulation and vertical turnover; particles of various components interpenetrate and mix through repeated convection and diffusion. Once the set mixing time elapses, the material is discharged through the bottom outlet.

Operation Methods

Before startup, check the mixing pan for residual material or foreign objects, ensure the mixing arms and scrapers are securely fastened and intact, and verify that the discharge gate is tightly closed.

After confirming normal operation during a no-load start, add the material components into the pan sequentially according to the formula. Once loading is complete, begin the mixing timer; the typical mixing duration is 2–4 minutes. If liquid additives are required, spray them evenly through the nozzle during the mixing process. Upon completion, open the discharge gate to empty the pan; once fully discharged, close the gate to prepare for the next batch.
